Kayla & Abraham
How I got to photograph this fun couple is an interesting story. My girlfriend Tessa and I had plans on going to the Dominican Republic with her family for New Years. We had the AirBNB but we had not yet bought the plane tickets. The day we were going to buy our tickets, literally that same day, I get an email from Kayla inquiring about wanting to do an engagement session while she and her fiance were visiting Puerto Rico from NYC. They were going to be in PR the week we were flying back to the states from DR.
I was really excited about doing their engagement session after reading all the nice things she said in her message but bummed that we were going to be flying back to the states. That’s when Tessa looked up plane tickets and realized that it would actually be cheaper to fly from DR to PR and then back to NYC than it would to just fly direct! So I replied to Kayla with the great news that I would be able to meet them in PR but that they would have to decide quickly because we were going to be buying our tickets that evening. She did not hesitate and booked right away! My heart was so happy! 😀
We met up with Kayla and Abraham at a very popular cocktail bar in Old San Juan, La Factoria, where they treated us to a couple of drinks to loosen up before the shoot. Since we were already there, I went ahead and took some pictures of them inside the bar as we finished our last drink.
We then proceeded to walk the colorful streets of San Juan, chasing the sunset light before it disappears. A few photo locations and an outfit change later, we had such a blast exploring San Juan with Kayla and Abraham! We had so much fun, laughed so much (the drinks helped), and by the end, I’m happy to say that it was one of the best engagement sessions I’d ever shot, not to mention the BEST way to start my 2020 season!
Thank you, Kayla and Abraham, so much! Cannot wait for the wedding day! 😉
THE ENGAGEMENT PICTURES
While Kayla and Abraham where changing their outfits, I took some pictures of my queen Tessa 🙂
