Valentine’s Day at Disney World!

After a long 3 weeks apart, Tessa flew down from NYC to spend Valentine’s day (& a lot more!) together in Orlando. Being Disney annual passholders the decision with how to spend our Valentine’s day was obvious. We decided on Animal Kingdom and started planning about a month in advance, booking all of our dining reservations and fast passes ahead of time.

To start the day we had lunch at Sana’a, an African restaurant at the Animal Kingdom lodge. We heard amazing things about the food, and the ambiance is 10/10 with views of the safari surrounding the main dining area.

Since Tessa requested a view, we had to wait a few minutes for the table to be cleared. So obviously we took the dope lighting opportunity and shot some pictures in the lobby.

More selfies 🙂

We each had a beer, the Savannah dry cider was bomb. We ordered the bread service which is a little pricey but WORTH IT. It will definitely fill you up, so it wasn’t necessary to order as much food as we did, but everything we got was amazing.

Then we headed to Animal Kingdom!

We had a fast pass for Expedition Everest first!

And then we had a little free time to roam, drink cocktails and ask strangers to take our pictures 🙂

We were supposed to go to the Lion King show next, but after waiting in line and getting into the show, Tessa was dying of thirst and melting by the second lol so we left to get her some water. PRO TIP: Make sure you stop at a concession stand for some snacks and beverages before heading to any shows since they don’t offer this inside.

Finally, we headed to Avatar world to explore the new Pandora ride! The wait was too long and there was no fast passes available but we will be back for that specifically because how incredible is this?!

Who wants to do an engagement session at Animal Kingdom? UNLIMITED photo spots, not even kidding.

Our lunch was so filling that we weren’t even hungry when our 7 o’clock dinner reservation rolled around, which was supposed to be at Il Mulino in the Swan and Dolphin resort. PRO-TIP: If you book through the disney app you have to use a credit card to make reservations and anything cancelled the day of results in a $10 cancellation fee per person. Avoid this by making reservations through the app Open Table. Although, be warned that when going this route if you make more than 3 cancellations or no shows, you will not be able to make reservations in the future.

So, we headed to Magic Kingdom to finish the night with a firework show! Take the ferry for a more romantic journey over 🙂

And that’s a wrap!

See you next time (in 4 days) Disney World!
