I’m here to answer the question every Potterhead who’s planning a wedding is wondering – can you get married inside of Universal Studio’s Harry Potter World?
I’m in no way affiliated with Universal Studios, but I am a loyal Annual Passholder and lover of all things Harry Potter. I’m also a wedding photographer who has now been apart of 3 different Universal Studios ceremonies.
Below are 3 routes you can take if you’re looking to ditch the typical wedding traditions and slyther-in to married life in a more wizardly fashion.
1. Hold your ceremony at the Hard Rock Hotel,
then walk around the park with your crew and your photographer! Josh & Kelly eloped all the way from the UK with only 4 of their friends. The Hard Rock offers a gorgeous outside ceremony area & a reception room where you can cool off, cut the cake and pop champagne. Then there is a boat that takes you directly from the Hard Rock into the parks, so you can spend the rest of the day riding rides and making lifetime memories with your favorite people. 2. Head to the bridge that connects Jurassic Park and The Wizarding World of Harry PotterÂ
with your love, your officiant and your photographer. Keep in mind, this plan isn’t full proof. You’ll of course have to deal with crowds of children and people drunk off of butter beer, but in our experience the staff are totally cool with you saying “I do” inside of Hogwarts so long as you don’t cause a scene. See below the awesome security guard who came up to congratulate the happy couple, and then proceeded to take us around the park, and to the front of every line! VIP AF. Disney could never! 3. Get dressed up and wing it!Â
Chelsea & Michael had zero guests, just myself and their officiant were along for the adventure, which made finding a ceremony spot without drawing too much attention to ourselves especially simple. If you’re extremely laidback and the only wedding plans you’ve made are your tickets to Universal, this route is totally doable with the help of a professional photographer, especially one who knows the lay of the land. 4. Have your engagement session inside the parks instead!
If you’re having trouble convincing your other half to give up their dreams of a big wedding in lieu of saying “I do” inside of Harry Potter World, this may be the option for you. It’s a good excuse to spend the day at the park with your honey while getting some awesome, magical engagement photos for your Save The Dates 😉 View Allison + Rich’s full engagement session here.
