Emily & Daniel
From the moment Emily messaged me about her and Daniel’s destination wedding, I was beyond excited to be hired to document their day! They had decided on a destination wedding and chose Puerto Rico as their location even though they had never been there. It was going to be both of their first times in Puerto Rico with only the closest of friends and family as guests. I was like YESSS! And she wanted a photo/video team which meant me and Tessa (Reel Feels) on another Puerto Rico adventure. I couldn’t be happier and more grateful for the opportunity!
The Serafina Beach Hotel was a perfect venue for their small intimate wedding. Tessa and I started at Emily’s room for getting-ready pictures with her and her bridesmaids. We then went to the National Historic Site Castillo San Cristobál in Old San Juan for a first-look with Daniel followed by the bridal party and family pictures at the fort overlooking the Caribbean Sea.
From there we headed back to the Serafina Beach Hotel in the Condado area of San Juan which was only about a five to ten-minute drive from Old San Juan. The ceremony area was stunningly designed and with the ocean waters as their backdrop, Emily and Daniel said “I do” with a cheering crowd of family and friends.
We took advantage of the little bit of sun we had left before it set to walk along the beach for some fun portraits. The tide rose faster than we anticipate though and a crashing wave that we couldn’t run from got us all soaked from the knees down, putting an end to the portrait session and signaling that it was time to head to the reception room to dry off and start the drinking Lol.
From there the night was one fun dance party. Every single one of their guests was dancing and enjoying themselves. Song after song, Medalla after Medalla (local beer), the vibes of the night were all about celebrating life and celebrating Emily and Daniel’s marriage.
It was the most incredible wedding day and I’m so happy that Tessa and I were honored to be there to document it so that it will be remembered for decades to come.
Thank you so much, Emily and Daniel! I cannot wait until we get to hang in Puerto Rico again.
PS: since their wedding day, also their first time ever visiting the island, they have returned to PR two or three times (their wedding was in November, I’m typing this in March) and have even expressed a desire to move there. They have discovered what Tessa and I also discovered last year, that Puerto Rico truly is an enchanted island, small in square miles but filled with infinite adventures. No passport required.
