Welcome to Samantha and Jim’s wedding blog!
Samantha as the Bride
Jim as the Groom
Mickey Mouse as himself
When Samantha and Jim first contacted me about their wedding, we instantly clicked with our mutual love of Disney movies and a very similar sense of humor. They were living in Kansas at the time but getting married in Orlando at Disney’s Wedding Pavilion and Grand Floridian Resort. A few emails and a phone call later and we were a match! 🙂 From there we started planning their engagement session, which we did at Disney’s Boardwalk on one of their trips to Orlando. We got to know each other even more and from there the excitement for their big day grew even more!
Then the day finally came! Everything started at Disney’s Contemporary Resort where the bride and groom were getting ready in separate rooms. I started with Jim and the guys then headed over to Samantha and we all rode together to the Pavilion. The weather that day was absolutely perfect! Sunny but not too sunny, warm but not hot. There was a clear view of Epcot from the Pavilion altar. After the ceremony, we got to take pictures around the Pavilion and in the lobby area of the Grand Floridian. Again, picture perfect (no pun lol) weather. Samantha and Jim were so wildly in love and soooo happy that it was easy to get gorgeous pictures of them.
We then headed to the reception which included the normal formalities (intros, first dances, toasts, dinner, etc). But then, something truly magical was about to happen. Samantha and Jim had no idea. Samantha’s parents had let me in on the secret so I could be ready for it, but Samantha and Jim were completely surprised. Shortly after the floor is opened for dancing, the DJ makes an announcement, the doors open and…it’s Mickey Mouse!!!
Mickey Mouse bursts into the reception and everyone, including myself, went crazy! Especially the newlyweds, they truly had no idea. Just check out their faces in the pictures haha! They were completely surprised. As for me, the 8-year-old in me came out as soon as Mickey started dancing. I was 8 years old again! It was such a blast, so much fun.
We even got to do a mini photo-shoot with Mickey Mouse before he had to leave!!! It was an incredible, magical wedding! As you’ll see in the pictures below 😀
