What a fun engagement session!! I met Ana and David at a bar in Wynwood called El Patio where we got to talk and trade laughs before we started actually taking pictures. Usually, when I’m meeting a couple in person for the first time during their engagement session, I try to have them meet me at a coffee shop or bar first to hang out and catch up. It’s a great icebreaker before the shoot 🙂
After a round (or two) of beers, we started taking pictures right there inside the bar because it was open air (no ceiling), which meant good light, and the bar itself was dope! Very cute walls, plants everywhere. This place would be perfect to host a party or small event. We then proceeded to explore the streets that make up the Wynwood District of Miami in search of cool backgrounds for our pictures. Luckily the streets were not too busy with tourists, so we didn’t have to dodge too many people.
For their second outfit, we went to Area 31 which is a restaurant on the 16th floor of the Kimpton EPIC Hotel. The bar section of the restaurant is part of the hotel’s huge 16th-floor patio, complete with a big pool, table seating and a breathtaking view of Downtown Miami! Open air, rooftop vibes. This place was exactly the boujee-ness we were looking for lol.
We arrived during happy hour which is needless to say that the place was packed lol, but not uncomfortable, just a lot of people. We arrived at the perfect time to catch the sunset and take pictures overlooking the city. The view was crazy spectacular.
When the sun went away, the photo shoot was done and we hung out for another round of drinks and chicken wings. I had such an amazing time and cannot wait for their wedding day!
